Journey into Enchantment: A Magical Night of Lights

Over the past number of years, our dedicated School Council has hosted some amazing community events such as Breakfast and a Movie, Community Skating, and of course, an amazing end-of-year Fun Fair.  While many of these sorts of events are necessarily curtailed given the pandemic, our School Council is continuing to look for ways to capture the incredible spirit of our community and is planning for some unique events for the Winter for all of our EVS and F2F families.

In the interim, our School Council has managed to secure a discount for all Bayview Glen P.S. families looking to visit Markham’s Journey Into Enchantment light exhibit at Angus Glen Golf Club.  This holiday season, the exhibit invites you to experience the magic of more than one million lights!  You’ll get to encounter dazzling animated displays, static displays, music shows, simulated starburst fireworks lights, and a spectacular tunnel as you drive through in the comfort of your own vehicle along a 1.6 km route that will impress and amaze!

While Journey Into Enchantment is unable to reserve a specific time slot for the school exclusively, the School Council is promoting community solidarity, encouraging those wishing to join to attend on Tuesday December 8th at 6:30 p.m. if possible.  Pricing is set per vehicle and Bayview Glen P.S. community members get a 15% discount using promo code BGPS.

While this event takes place outside of the school, our first priority remains the safety all those participating, and to whatever extent this unique holiday experience might be bringing us ‘together’, families would be in their own vehicles, without contact with other families.  We would ask that family members in cars all be from the same household and remind everyone that all guests are required to remain in their vehicles at all times.  The event flow is designed to allow for extra space between vehicles so please keep your distance, respect other guests, and do not tailgate the car in front of you.  As always, anyone feeling unwell should remain at home.  (Please refer to the COVID-19 Self-Assessment poster from York Region Public Health.)

On behalf of our School Council, we wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season.
