We’re almost there, B.G.P.S.

It’s almost time for us to have our students rejoin us at Bayview Glen P.S.!

We would like to welcome all our new and returning families. We hope you have had a wonderful, relaxing summer, and are looking forward to the new school year.  This year will be a unique start to school as we look to resume in-class learning while mindful of COVID-19 mitigation practices.  For more information about York Region’s Return to School Plan, please visit the board’s school reopening landing page.  We will, of course, being sharing additionally about particular school procedures in the days ahead and reviewing them with students regularly.  We look forward to a successful and safe return to school for our learners.

In past years, every Fall we would distribute to families a School Startup Package, with important information about the school year as well as various forms that need to be read, signed and returned to the school, including a School Startup Permissions Form and a Student Information Consent Form, as well as an optional School Council Candidate Nomination Form and Faith Request for Curriculum Accommodations Form.  This year, these forms will be distributed and collected online.  You will receive an email from YRDSB Update in the near future.

At the school, however, we do collect a number of important forms and we’d kindly ask that any of the following forms be printed, scanned and e-mailed to bayview.glen.ps@yrdsb.ca at your earliest convenience or sent in with your child on the first day of school, as appropriate.  If your child has an anaphylactic condition please complete an Anaphylactic Health Care Plan.  Similarly, complete an Asthma Health Care Plan, a Type 1 Diabetes Health Care Plan or an Epilepsy/Seizure Disorder Health Care Plan, as needed.  Finally, if your child has any other medical condition please complete a general Health Care Plan.  Please note, these forms must be completed annually for children with an anaphylactic and/or other medical conditions.  We thank our community for their help with gathering this important information.

More often than not, we share information with families digitally here, on our school blog, and we encourage all families to subscribe to it in order to receive e-mail notifications when new items are posted.  We are also active on Twitter and Instagram @bayviewglenps1.  Please follow us!

At Bayview Glen P.S. we have a dedicated staff with a strong commitment to student well‐being and achievement, and to creating an environment where everyone feels safe, welcome and respected.  We look forward to working together in the months ahead, as we adapt our practices at Bayview Glen P.S. in the interest of teaching, learning and safety.

Please do not hesitate to contact the school if you have any questions.  We welcome the opportunity to speak with you.

We wish you all a happy, safe and successful school year.  More details about our supported entry process and first day routines will follow.
