Several of our classes have been working on a Design Thinking Project this year focusing on raising awareness about the importance of accessibility in our school and community. The classes involved have been generating ideas and themes to support their goal and are now ready to put their plans into action.
They will be starting with a presentation by Joshua Dvorkin, an Ambassador from the Rick Hansen Foundation, on Monday, February 11th from 2:05 p.m. – 2:50 p.m. Some of the key messages of the presentation will include:
- The importance of physical accessibility and inclusion of people with disabilities
- Rick Hansen as a great Canadian and the mission of Rick Hansen Foundation
- Joshua’s inspiring personal story of how he has overcome barriers and his personal beliefs that anyone can make a difference, and
- A call to action for students to promote accessible and inclusive schools
For parents and community members who may wish to join us, there will be limited seating available.
We thank you for your support.
