From the desk of the School Council
With only 6 weeks left of the school year, we are busy at work with some great fundraisers and initiatives.
We are in the process of putting together a proposal for an Outdoor Classroom. An outdoor classroom is an opportunity to bring learning to life, a space that brings learning outside. Outdoor classroom designs incorporate seating, teaching platforms and natural elements to explore. Any parent can join the Committee, if you are interested, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will add you to the planning Committee. If you are not able to take part of the Committee but want to add some insight into the project, please email us your ideas. Some ideas are, but not limited to, stone seating, stadium seating, stepping stones, outdoor chalkboard, musical area, gardens, greenhouse, natural features, fitness and balance elements.
Last Council Meeting
Our monthly meetings are usually held on the first Monday of the month, but since in June it is a PA day, we will be having our last meeting of the school year on Tuesday June 5th in the library from 7-8:15pm. Please come out and join us.
QSP pick up
Thanks to everyone for their support on the QSP orders. QSP pick up is on Wednesday May 30th from 3-6pm. Orders cannot go home on the school bus with your child, so please arrange to pick up on the scheduled date.
Our Fun Fair is quickly approaching and we need your help! We are looking for volunteers to help on the day of the event. We are also looking for high school students that need some community service hours.
The annual Fun Fair is a fun filled day for the kids. They can play games, and have lots of fun with friends. This day also will help us to raise funds for the school. The money raised from this event will go toward activities, programs and items all of our children will use throughout the school year.
Please email us if you are able to volunteer or know of a high school student that needs some volunteer hours to email@example.com.
To help fundraising efforts at this year’s annual Community Party on Friday June 20th, 2018, Parent Council has put together an amazing CLASSROOM BASKET FUNDRAISER! Thank you to the teachers for the ongoing support and time towards putting the baskets together.
It is going to be fun for each Kindergarten-Grade 6 Class to put a class basket together with items that have been brainstormed in class. The requested budget for the items(s) you send in is $10.00 or less.
